Di Barker’s designs embrace and celebrate time-honored traditions, but they also make everyone stop and take notice. Her innovative design voice is influenced by her worldwide travels and speaks to an elegantly grounded, global sense of style.
When designing her family home in South Africa, Di embraced an indoor-outdoor entertaining lifestyle with a nostalgic touch. Her design plan showcases a stunning pool with curved stairs and a tanning shelf, an outdoor kitchen off the main kitchen, a raised conversational fire pit, as well as an outdoor living room and dining space.
“Indoor- Outdoor Living is my passion. When the temperature heats up and plants and flowers begin to bloom, there are few places more appealing than living spaces that seamlessly connect to the outdoors. Beyond merely inviting the sunshine in and framing views of a garden, terrace, patio or pool, I love that these spaces encourage living every day to the fullest, whilst taking full advantage of all that nature has to offer.”
